I am not proud to admit that I paid $60 for this necklace in a jewelry store that has a reputation for amazing deals. I did not know the value of jade- although I still feel confused on this issue- but I thought I was getting a great deal. I just happened to stumble upon the same necklace, almost identical, on ebay. The necklace was priced at $9.99, and shipping was set at $8.99. The wind was knocked out of me.

When I saw the necklace for the first time on a store shelf I was not impressed with the design but loved the color, quality, and transparency of the jade. I tried the necklace on and to my surprise the design looked fabulous on. Bottom line, the necklace was well worth $60, but a person can’t help but kick themselves when they could have spent $20!

The moral of the story? Take a look around online at jewelry! Especially on ebay. The seller of this necklace was in China. They mass produce jade and other semi-precious stone jewelry. Their economy is on a smaller scale that the U.S.’s, which helps with the price from our end!
