I discovered faceted pearls less than a year ago, although after researching I learned that they were popular in the late 90’s. In the jewelry store I was told that only Tahitian pearls could be faceted because of their density. This is not true. It may be, however, that Tahitian pearls are easier to create a symmetric facet with.
I read that faceted pearls take a long time to make, and in 1998 the demand was much higher than any possibility of production. In 1998 according to my sources it took one person a working day to facet 6 pearls. I am not sure how easy they are to produce, although I guess very easy- I found many on a website selling for $10-$15.

Spring fashion is always tres chic…feminine, flirty and fun. Although I did not go to any runway shows :( I have taken a look at a few resources of my own.
Colors
Spring colors are traditionally pastels… uplifting colors simulated from the petals of spring flowers. Fittingly uplifting, as bright shiny spring follows harsh deadly winter. Everyone is ready by spring to shed the sweaters, leggings, and wool coats to don lighter fare. The colors I saw on the runway were pink, plenty of white, black, and gray; and light blue to name a few.

I am not proud to admit that I paid $60 for this necklace in a jewelry store that has a reputation for amazing deals. I did not know the value of jade- although I still feel confused on this issue- but I thought I was getting a great deal. I just happened to stumble upon the same necklace, almost identical, on ebay. The necklace was priced at $9.99, and shipping was set at $8.99. The wind was knocked out of me.

I found this necklace on, of all places, amazon.com. I’ve blogged about their jewelry before. This necklace is definitely not my style, but I loved the details. I’m amazed at the facets of the citrine (the yellow/gold large spherical beads) and the smoky quartz (oval shaped, translucent smoke colored) and the flowers are amazing. I think they are tigerseye. Overall the necklace is not for me. Its too busy and I think its difficult to focus on the most beautiful parts of the necklace. Instead I found my eyes darting everywhere. I’m not crazy about the double strand for this necklace design either.

I love this necklace. The colors are earthy yet bold- muted yet slightly "look at me." This would be a great piece with neutral colored clothing. I found this necklace on Amazon.com. I didn’t even know they sold jewelry! I was surprised that I found several pieces of jewelry on Amazon’s site that I really liked.
