Britney Spears was rushed to the hospital during what the media has pegged a "breakdown."
We are so quick to point our finger at Britney. Have you ever pictured yourself in her shoes?
Everyone remembers the "original" Britney Spears. So eager to please. She went to great lengths to portray a pleasing image. Britney wanted us to like her.
It reminds me of a child and parent. Britney Spears, the child, idealizes the parent, America, and wants to please the parent. When it comes time for a child to grow up she rebels. This is exactly what Britney Spears did.
She was pulled in one direction, be yourself, portray yourself in a more adult light, change your image! And when she decided to go this route, she was criticized for being a bad role model.
The public disapproved of Britney’s choice of husband, her motherhood skills, even her personal hygiene during pregnancy.
Lets face it… Will we ever again be happy with Britney Spears?
We wanted her to stay youthful, an adolescent, and innocent. Britney had to grow up … she is an adult now. She must have been so tired of trying to do what the public wanted… and since America wasn’t happy with anything she did she must have got fed up. Britney must have realized that she needed to live her life the way she wanted to.
She fell in the eyes of the public. Everyone watched in horror, but maybe in pleasure too… maybe we were a little jealous of her fame and fortune.
Stress can trigger mental illness. Drug abuse can mimic mental illness. Regardless, Britney has been under a lot of stress and been held to high expectations since she made it at 17 yrs. old
But maybe Britney still needs our approval. May be she needs our approval, for us to say, "Its okay, Britney. We still love you. Live your life."
