Tip for oily skin: Pull your hair back away from your face, especially while you sleep. If you have fine hair like me the oils travel from your scalp to the face faster than someone with curly hair. To prevent acne I wash my hair daily unless I curl it- then every other day.
Tip for fine hair: For more volume, there’s always the obvious- curlers and perms. Also when I blow dry my hair I brush it up and use a root booster product. I used to hang my head down and blow dry my hair upside down. This method gave my hair body- but in a bad way. My hair puffed into a horrendous mushroom!!! When blow drying for volume, think “up” instead of down.
Tip for waves and curls: A cheap alternative to play up your curls- instead of buying extra or expensive shampoos and conditioners that enhance curls opt for a moisturizing duo. Most of us have moisturizing shampoo and conditioner lying around already. Suave works great for me! Moisturizing products do wonders for waves and curls. When I lived in a humid climate my hair had a loose curl. Now that I’m in a dryer climate my hair is much straighter. This makes blow drying a lot easier – and when I want curl I use my moisturizing products!

Right now I use Big Hair salon hair care full volume by Charles Worthington. I really don’t have a preference in root boosters. I haven’t found one I don’t like, actually. They all work when applied properly. SexyHair is popular with the ladies. I have lots of friends that use it. You can find it at any salon. I know I’ve even seen it at the Wal-Mart Salon.
